Remote Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Illinois
A position is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to provide instructional support within a special education cooperative. The role involves working onsite across multiple school buildings, delivering tailored education for a caseload of 14 students during the 2026-2027 academic year.
Location: St. Charles, Illinois
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting lessons to meet individual needs
- Manage a caseload of 14 students across seven different school buildings
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support student development and academic progress
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress
- Attend required meetings and professional development sessions
- Travel between assigned locations during the workday (paid mileage provided)
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) in the relevant discipline
- Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Ability to manage multiple school sites effectively
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of best practices in special education for students with hearing impairments
Work Schedule:
- 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Daily hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including a 30-minute duty-free lunch
