Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in NY

A specialized role is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide telehealth and consultative services in Wallkill, NY. This part-time contract position involves supporting 4-5 students across elementary to high school levels, delivering around five hours of service per week from September 7, 2026, through June 25, 2027.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering specialized instruction and consultative services aligned with Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements during approximately 30-minute sessions per student weekly.
• Creating, implementing, and monitoring IEP goals tailored specifically to students with hearing impairments.
• Maintaining detailed and accurate records of student progress and administrative documentation.

Qualifications sought for this opportunity:

• Active New York State Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing certification (PK12).
• Demonstrated experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing with a range of student age groups.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Familiarity with hearing assistive technologies such as FM/DM systems, AAC devices, and cochlear implants is essential.
