Virtual Teacher of Visually Impaired in CT

A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled professional in visual impairment education, concentrated on telehealth delivery methods. This role focuses on providing instruction to a high school student with low vision who is eager to learn Braille. The position requires expertise both as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and as a Braillist.

Location: Bolton, Connecticut
Contract Type: Temporary, starting ASAP through the end of the school year (EOSY), with options for Extended School Year (ESY) and Next School Year (NSY) assignments.
Weekly Hours: Approximately 3 hours
Student Profile: One high school student with low vision

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver telehealth instruction tailored to the students visual impairment needs.
• Teach Braille fluency and accessible learning techniques.
• Customize educational materials and methods to enhance student engagement and comprehension.
• Collaborate remotely with educational staff and family to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies.

• Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
