Virtual Teacher of Visually Impaired in SC
A contract opportunity is available for a Virtual Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instruction via telehealth. This role involves working one hour per week with a high school female student who is wheelchair-bound and has severe needs. While her visual impairment is moderate, additional support through physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT) services is also provided.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering tailored instruction to address the unique learning needs related to visual impairment
- Collaborating remotely with PT and OT professionals to ensure cohesive support for the student
- Utilizing telehealth platforms effectively to engage and assess the students progress
- Implementing individualized strategies to enhance academic and functional skills
Desired qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students who have multiple disabilities, including mobility challenges
- Familiarity with telehealth technology and virtual instructional methods
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of a student with both visual and physical impairments
Location: Remote (virtual services provided to a student based in Clemson, SC)
