Virtual Teacher of Visually Impaired in GA
A full-time opportunity for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) specializing in telehealth services is available in Columbus, GA. This contract position supports students through virtual instruction within the school system from August 3, 2026, to May 21, 2027, with potential additional days for pre- and post-planning.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students via telehealth platforms
- Collaborating with district staff to assess student needs and determine appropriate placement based on age group and experience preferences
- Maintaining detailed daily logs to document services provided and comply with district requirements
- Adapting teaching strategies to meet individual IEP goals in a virtual setting
- Participating in ongoing communication with educational teams and families
Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
- Proven experience providing virtual instruction and services to visually impaired students within K-12 schools
- Strong organizational skills for thorough recordkeeping and documentation
- Ability to engage and motivate students through remote learning technologies
- Flexibility to adapt to caseload demands and district placement preferences
Location: Columbus, Georgia (serving students in the Muscogee County school district)
Contract Duration: August 3, 2026 May 21, 2027 (full-time, minimum 37.5 hours/week)
