Virtual Teacher of Visually Impaired in CT
An opportunity is available for a skilled visually impaired educator specializing in telehealth instruction and Braille literacy to support a high school student with low vision. This role requires delivering customized Braille instruction and vision support through virtual platforms, enabling effective learning and skill development.

Responsibilities:
- Provide telehealth-based instruction tailored to meet the needs of a high school student with low vision.
- Teach Braille literacy to facilitate the student's academic progress and independence.
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with the students goals.
- Monitor the student's progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with relevant educational staff to ensure comprehensive support.
Qualifications:
- Certification and experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Proficiency in Braille instruction and related assistive technologies.
- Experience conducting lessons via telehealth platforms.
- Strong understanding of low vision challenges and educational accommodations.
- Ability to work with students individually and maintain engaging virtual sessions.
Contract Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: End of School Year, including Extended School Year and Night School Year as applicable.
- Hours per Week: Approximately 3 hours
- Contract Type: Temporary contract position
