Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired in NC
A contract opportunity is available for a Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) professional to provide specialized telehealth services to elementary students in Vass, NC. The role involves delivering direct instruction tailored to students with visual impairments, ensuring compliance with IEP requirements and promoting student success in an academic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide telehealth instruction to two 2nd-grade students, offering specialized support to meet individual educational needs
- Deliver services three times weekly for 45 minutes plus one 10-minute session for Student 1, and four 45-minute sessions monthly for Student 2
- Implement braille instruction and support for one student as required
- Collaborate with school staff to track progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly
- Maintain accurate documentation of service delivery and adherence to IEP goals
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience delivering telehealth or virtual instruction to students with visual impairments
- Proficiency in braille instruction and educational techniques for visually impaired learners
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with young elementary-aged students
- Familiarity with IEP goals and monitoring methods
