Summary: We're in search of a Virtual School Occupational Therapist to deliver teletherapy services to students in need across Washington state. In this role, you'll assess, plan, and implement therapy interventions remotely, collaborating closely with school teams, families, and caregivers to promote student success and independence in the virtual learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual assessments to evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living, tailored to Washington's diverse student population.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and student objectives, emphasizing functional skills and participation in academic and social activities relevant to Washington's educational standards.
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions and virtual tools to conduct teletherapy sessions addressing students' unique occupational therapy needs in Washington's remote learning environment.
  • Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to integrate therapy objectives into the virtual classroom and home environment, offering culturally sensitive strategies and accommodations to support student progress.
  • Continuously monitor student development and adjust therapy interventions as required, leveraging data-driven insights to ensure effective outcomes in compliance with Washington's educational regulations.
  • Provide consultation and training to school personnel, parents, and caregivers on implementing strategies to support students' occupational therapy goals within the context of Washington's educational framework.
  • Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and communication with stakeholders, adhering to Washington's state-specific documentation requirements.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Possess state licensure or eligibility as an Occupational Therapist in Washington.
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Previous experience in school-based occupational therapy is advantageous, particularly within Washington's educational system.
  • Proficiency in utilizing teletherapy platforms and technology for service delivery, ensuring accessibility and effectiveness for students across Washington's diverse geographic regions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for effective remote work within Washington's educational community.
